What Does It Mean To Be AI-Powered? 
  
AI has become the latest buzzword used by companies looking to demonstrate technology leadership. While this is taking place across numerous technology sectors, it has become particularly prominent in the world of intellectual property (IP) in the last 12 months.  
 
As we build towards the International Trademark Association’s (INTA) 2025 Annual meeting - the flagship event of the year for those in IP - every business will be aiming to associate themselves with AI as they debut their new products and features. With that in mind, it is important to understand what AI means in an objective sense.  
 
AI comes in many forms: Identifying people in an image, using voice commands to complete tasks and utilising large language models (LLM’s) to answer questions. For RightHub, AI is about more than these individual applications of AI, it is about the application of AI in building automation into the entire IP management lifecycle - and in doing so solving the challenges of IP professionals that legacy technology cannot. 
 
**That’s what RightHub was built upon, and it remains at the centre of what we do.** 
 
RightHub is the first and only IPMS built from the ground up to deliver services in a world where AI is a reality. We saw the potential for AI to enable IP professionals to carry out their job more efficiently, effectively, with less risk and more control - and we wanted to build this into our platform from scratch.

However, simply bolting these tools onto an existing system can raise concerns about data security and integration. RightHub addresses these issues by leveraging the latest LLMs from OpenAI and Anthropic through fully encrypted APIs with zero data retention on the provider side. This careful approach ensures sensitive information remains protected and is deleted as a standard directly after input/output while still granting access to cutting-edge AI technology. 
 
Take auto-docketing as a specific example. Many IPMS claim to offer automated docketing. RightHub’s AI docketing allows users to:  
- Feed in documents and correspondence, from which the platform creates a detailed case file. 
- Upload subsequent documents that are automatically matched to an existing case file and stored accordingly. 
- See all upcoming deadlines and tasks that need to be completed using an easily digestible interface that minimises the risks of missed deadlines and the costs associated with insuring such errors. 
- Reduce data discrepancy through lessening human touchpoints. 
- Integrate multiple inboxes into the RightHub platform, which automatically identifies attached documents and matches them to the appropriate case file, meaning IP administrators don’t have to log into multiple portals to access documents. 
 
 Manual docketing currently takes 8-12 minutes. With RightHub’s AI docketing functionality, it can be done with a single click. While some IPMS may be able to use AI to make certain aspects of docketing quicker, no other platform is able to offer so much saving in resources.  
 
Importantly, RightHub’s aim isn’t to replace IP administrators with AI, instead we believe that  augmenting IP administrator’s capabilities, by reducing as much time as possible on mundane tasks, frees them up to focus on work that will really make a difference. 
 
We believe that AI technology has immense potential to transform how IP is managed in the future.
